A Weekend in Tulum, Mexico

My new favorite place to be whisked away to is definitely Tulum, Mexico.  I have the most wonderful boyfriend, Billy, who gifted me with such a fun trip for my birthday and to celebrate our anniversary.  The weather was absolutely perfect, but the water was a bit chilly.  I wasn’t sure what to expect when it came to the beaches and views, but there was something beautiful to look at every where you looked!

Tulum is definitely the spot to go if you want days for relaxation and days for excitement.  I would highly recommend the swimming in the Cenotes and touring the Mayan Ruins.

Places to Stay:

If you are looking for an all-inclusive hotel, Dreams Tulum is beautiful.  This is perfect if your staying for a while and spending most of your days relaxing on the beach.  Definitely upgrade to the preferred section, because it’s much more exclusive and it has premium liquor.  The mexican restaurant was good, but I would suggest hitting the town for dinner.

For a quiet boutique hotel, Jashita is perfect for you.  The staff was amazing and the margaritas are pretty great too.  With an adults only pool and only about 20 suites, this is the place for rest and relaxation.

Hot spot on the beach, Coral Tulum Hotel, is amazing.  With small pools over looking the beach in each suite, it gives you a secluded experience even though your just a few steps away from all the happening spots.

Spot to dine:

Posada Margarita.  This is the most adorable beach spot.  The drinks are delicious and the pasta special is a must, whatever it may be on the day you go.  We started with the caprese salad with the different types of breads they bring out.  This is a great spot for when you want to have dinner on the actual beach, but you can also choose to sit on the cover patio area.

Gitano.  If you are a Mezcal fan, than this is a spot for you!  They make their very own mezcal and it is all over their drink menu.  It is the new go-to spot for drinking, dancing, and hors d’oeuvres.

Ziggy’s.  This is a perfect spot for late night swinging on swings and drinking margaritas.  Every night has a theme and you will always find live music here.
